PRE-EVALUATION
Please send the following information in an email.

1. Project name/Manuscript title
2. Author name or pseudonym
3. Genre
4. Word count & page count
5. Brief book description
6. Deadline, if any
7. At what stage is your work? [never edited, edited once for story development (content), edited once for copy, ready for proofreading]
8. First chapter of manuscript [two chapters if first chapter is short] as attachment (.doc, .rtf, or .txt)

Format for submission

MANUSCRIPTS FOR COPY AND CONTENT EDITING: All work must be submitted in a word (.doc) or text (.txt or .rtf) file only and sent via email. Snail mail also accepted (Microsoft Word track changes not available when sent in hard copy). Please include title of work and author name in manuscript.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL FORMAT FOR MANUSCRIPTS SUBMITTED: (pre-evaluation, content and copy editing) • 8.5 x 11 page size, 1 inch margins all around, Times New Roman font, 12 point font size, double spaced. Do not include images of any kind in manuscript, nor tables or frames.

**Only complete manuscripts accepted for the editing process.

MANUSCRIPTS FOR PROOFREADING: Must be submitted in layout review format only. Electronic layout typically as a .pdf, .doc, or in hard copy galley form. Adobe .pdf must be sent via email. Galleys must be sent via snail mail.**

**Technical format does not apply to works for proofreading.

IMPORTANT!! All incorrectly formatted manuscripts submitted for copy and content editing will be charged per word. You are receiving a reasonable rate per page on all editing, so it is imperative that the formatting be precise so we mutually benefit from our transaction, and so you can take advantage of the per page rate (see pricing page.

TURNAROUND

4-5 Weeks for all projects
[Consult with me if you need your manuscript in less time. An extra charge will apply if I am able to fit you into my schedule.]

EDIT ROUNDS

⇒ An additional 2 weeks is required for second round edits (strongly suggested).
⇒ Third round edits require an additional 2 weeks (see pricing page)

SOME TIPS & REMINDERS ON SUBMITTING MANUSCRIPTS

* Format: 1 inch margins, Times New Roman or Courier font size 12, double spaced.
* Indent paragraphs no more than 5 spaces (including dialogue) and use quotation marks.
* Do not include images in the manuscript to be edited.
* Read a few books on writing that help with dialogue, punctuation, setting, voice, prose, etc.
* Spell check, spell check, spell check.
